Rosemary's Baby

A nagging insidiousness hidden beneath pregnancy paranoia.
Phenomenal.

  1. Ah well if we're talking best ever horror movies, this could well be my number one.

Finally saw drag me to hell, by the way. In the top twenty I reckon

  2. Time Out just did a poll of best ever horror movies, included in the contributors was Coffin Joe!!! Check out his number one...

Overall Rosemary's Baby came in at seven. I wouldn't disagree with number 1 but I know someone who would.
The list as a whole is an excellent snapshot of horror, I was very chuffed to see Martyrs make it in there, and the only omissions that spring to mind are modern pieces like Antichrist or Serbian Film (This is in Barker's 10 though!!). They'll appear in future lists.

  3. One of the true greats.

That's a pretty spot on Top 10. 9 masterpieces (albeit one I detest) and a number one fitting of a society who's favoutite entertainments are soap operas, talent shows, Adele and the Only cunting way is Essex.

Jaws a horror movie? I wouldn't say so (I'd say thriller), but if you do then I've been wrong all these years and The Shining isn't the greatest horror movie ever made!

  4. "Time Out proudly presents the 100 best horror films, as chosen by those who write in, direct, star in and celebrate the genre."

I don't think society got much of a look in.
